Requirements to Run for Office & for ASGC Membership
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5, a minimum of 6 units per semester or the non-credit equivalent hours, and be in good behavioral standing
- Be a current ASGC cardholder & have paid student activities fees
- Note that any candidates declared ineligible to run will be notified by the Coordinator of Student Life
ASGC Member Responsibilities
- Attend ASGC Senate meetings every Thursday from 4pm to 6pm during the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Commit to completing two office hours per week in the ASGC Office.
- Participate in ASGC Senate-sponsored events and programs
- Join at least one Gavilan College shared governance committee
- Fulfill the requirements of your position as stated in the bylaws
- Attend Mandatory ASGC Leadership Training & Teambuilding Dates

Campaigning Regulations
- No campaigning shall be conducted from the ASGC office at any time.
- Campaign posters and advertising will adhere to the Gavilan College and ASGC posting policies.
- Anyone running for office can use the ASGC copy machine to make copies of their campaign flyers.
- All responses in your application packet must be correct and truthful.
- Abide by the Gavilan College Student Code of Conduct at all times.
Recommended for Applicants
- Registering for Psyc 27 (Contemporary Leadership) is highly encouraged for ASGC members. If you are interested in taking the class please see a counselor to help you add the class.
- Attending an ASGC meeting. We meet every Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm in Library 170. Find more information on our ASGC Meetings page.
