El Centro refers to the most essential resources required to thrive as a student, which includes access to nutritious food, stable housing, wellness, and financial wellness resources. We provide resources and referrals for registered Gavilan College students including credit and non-credit students. Below are resources available on campus.

Gavilan College, we are committed to providing all students with the level of services and support they need. The EOPS Program Office at Gavilan College serves as a central point for access to a full spectrum of services available to undocumented students.
If you are undocumented and would like to learn if you could be eligible for AB 540 status; to pay instate tutuion ($46 per unit), please visit our AB 450 website and the Financial Aid website for more support.
You don’t need to be in crisis to see a therapist for emotional wellness. Emotional Wellness services are designed to help you cope with any stressors that are affecting your academic, career, or personal goals. Gavilan students who are currently enrolled are eligible to receive up to eight (8) emotional wellness sessions per semester for FREE. Use the Emotional Wellness online request form to request an appointment.
The food pantry is open T/W/TH 9:00am-2:30pm and closed during food distribution days. Come visit us on the south end of the Library building in LI134!
Gavilan College's FREE drive through food distribution takes place twice a month. Open to all. Register for the food pantry and food drive-thru here. Food pick up- is in Parking Lot H.
This service is intended for currently enrolled students (must provide a G#) who are unable to drive to campus during one or both of the drive through food distributions each month. Fresh produce boxes are packed and shipped directly from the source and mailed to the mailing address you indicate.

Are you currently, or have you been, in foster care?
At Gavilan College, we are committed to providing our Foster Youth with the level of services and support they need. Through our partnership with campus staff and resources, we can help you develop an academic, career, and personal plan that will help you achieve your lifelong goals.
Do you have a past with incarceration? We want to help you earn your degree. Higher Aspirations Initiative is a new program designed for and together with students and staff affected by incarceration and is geared toward the successful entry and completion of Formerly Incarcerated adults.
Are you in need of assistance to pay rent/mortgage? Did you or someone you live with lose their job or lost hours due to the pandemic? Are you in the process of moving and need help a night stay in a hotel or need help to pay for a moving truck? See if you qualify for assistance by completing the referral form. You can also check out our HHIP site.
Gavilan College has a limited number of laptops and MiFi/hotspots to loan to students who need them to continue their classes. Students registered in courses for the current semester and needing a laptop and/or hotspot, please complete the Laptop/Hotspot Request form.
Note: Students should not come to campus for equipment pickup unless confirmation of laptop request has been received by phone or email from Gavilan staff.
