The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act

The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination (SaVE) Act updated the Jeanne Clery Act to address violence women face on campus. SaVE requires that incidents of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking be disclosed in annual campus crime statistics reports, and that information on the rights of victims and procedures be distributed.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits sex discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs, including athletic programs, or activities that receive federal funding.
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
Drug-Free Campus

Gavilan College is a drug-free campus. District policy AP 3550 prohibits "the use, distribution, sale or possession of alcohol, narcotics, dangerous or illegal drugs or other controlled substances, as defined in California statutes, on district property or at any function sponsored by the district." Gavilan College complies with the Drug-Free Schools and Campuses Act of 1989 and the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988.
