Important Information about your drinking water
Gavilan Joint Community College District (“District”) inadvertently overlooked some monitoring or testing for drinking water standards per the Lead and Copper Rule (CCR, Title 22 Sections 64670 through 64690.80) We are required to monitor your drinking water for lead and copper every three years. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During June and September 2017, we failed to complete the monitoring or testing for lead and copper contaminants from the water delivery system.
What should I do?
There is nothing you need to do at this time. The table below shows that once the District conducted subsequent monitoring on January 24, 2018, the results indicated that most below the 90th percentile levels that do not exceed 0.005 mg/L for lead and 0.65 mg/L for copper. If you have health issues concerning the consumption of this water, you may wish to consult your doctor. What did we do to correct this situation? Upon notification from the State Water Resources Control Board – Division of Drinking Water (“Division”), the District agreed to resample the water delivery system within the month of June. The District will continue to work closely with the Division to ensure that a potable and reliable source of water supply is provided to our campus at all times.
