Guided Pathways Teams

Here at Gavilan College, we have five separate teams working on different aspects of pathways implementation:

Mapping is working on developing clear degree maps with course sequences that students can follow as they go through their studies.

Career & Academic Pathways (CAPs) formerly known as Clustering is focused on grouping our majors into 8 clusters. Each cluster contains majors with course overlaps or commonalities and prepares students for careers in related industries.

Onboarding is working on improving students early experience at Gavilan, including the college application process, enrollment, and new-student orientation.

Completion focuses on developing support systems that will help students stay on track and complete their studies.

The Career Exploration and Experience team is working on integrating career exploration and experiences into each student's instructional program, and building out campus-wide resources that support students and faculty, and are a point of contact for employers.

An overarching Guidance Team, that includes the VPAA/VPSS, tri-chairs, an Academic Senate rep, and a student coordinates the workgroups’ activities and ensures they are aligned with the college’s goals and progressing.
