EOPS Eligibility

Requirements

  • Be a California resident or AB540 student
  • Enrolled in 12 units or more for spring
    • (exemptions for students with a verified disability)
  • Have completed fewer than 70 semester degree applicable units
  • Qualify for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) Part A or  B (formerly known as the BOG Fee Waiver)
  • Be educationally disadvantaged as defined by the EOPS state guidelines (students must satisfy ONE of following criteria):
    • Not qualified for enrollment in minimum level English or Math applicable to Associate Degree
    • Did not graduate from high school or obtain GED
    • Graduated from high school with a GPA 2.5 or lower on a 4.0 scale
    • Previously enrolled in remedial education
    • First in family to graduate College
    • Primary language spoken in home is not English
    • Emancipated foster care youth

Other Student Support Programs and Services

  • If you are a single parent and eligible for EOPS, you may qualify for additional benefits and services through the Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE).
  • If you are a current or former foster youth, you may qualify for Foster Youth Services.
  • If your family is on public assistance, you may qualify for CalWORKS.
  • If you or your family receives CalFresh benefits (Food Stamps) you may be eligible for Fresh Success.
