Starting a Club
We are glad that you are interested in starting a club! Any current student can work to establish a new club or re-start a club. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you are interested in learning more about the process or to ask questions. Email asgcvpclubs@my.gavilan.edu or jmartin@gavilan.edu for more information.
To start a new club, you must have the following:

- A constitution & set of by-laws
- Use this ICC Sample Club Constitution & Bylaws document to get started
- A minimum of five (5) interested students
- Submit the Club Information Form each semester
- Be approved by ICC
- Have all of the other requirements met and email ASGC VP of Clubs all of your completed documents and your request to have your club on the agenda for the next ICC meeting.
- At the ICC meeting, you will be asked to present the club constitution and bylaws and provide a summary of the club’s mission and goals.
- After your presentation, the ICC will make a vote to approve your club.
- Once you are approved by the ICC, the new club will receive a one-time start-up contribution of up to $200. Clubs that are re-starting or continuing can receive a contribution of $100 per semester.
