Rooms are set in yogurt. Please check the schedule the day before your presentation even if you are sure you know your room—we have had to make adjustments due to the addition of a winter intersession, and I honestly don’t know what else will be brought up at the last minute for us to work around. So check and double check! The schedule on the flex page will be scrupulously up to date as far as I know. We will also have posters with all sessions and threads listed in the buildings we will inhabit starting early Thursday morning.

--Parking

You will NOT need a parking permit, but if you are coming from off campus, please park in a student stall (as opposed to a staff parking space); in many lots these are the spaces under the solar roofing.The northern or western lots are closest to the Library and Social Science buildings where most of our sessions will be.

---Feedback

In your room upon your arrival in some obvious place will be an ENVELOPE with your name on it IN NEON. Inside this will be a few blank roster sheets for you to set out near the entry. There will also be a pile of blank half-sheet evaluations that other presenters are also drawing from (so please don’t walk away with the blanks!)

Please set out the rosters and make sure people sign if they want flex credit for attending.

Before, during, or after your presentation, please be diligent about making sure people have one evaluation form each, and that they take a moment to fill them out. This is VITAL for the future of our flex programming. They can place them into the ENVELOPE with your name on it IN NEON (not any other!) and the now-filled envelope can simply be left in the room for pick-up by a committee member. Even if you only have one or two attendees, especially if you have lots—please ask for the evaluations. You can peek if doing so doesn’t put anyone on the spot, but we will share them with you once we compile them.

We will also do an overall evaluation of the day via surveymonkey starting January 25 evening, but the session-specific evaluations are critical; please don’t neglect them even if it means that you feel you must repeat yourself asking for them in more than one session. We need em!

On January 24-25 Professional Learning Flex days, we will be working on a 50 minute hour. Please arrive at your classroom no later than ten minutes before your session is to begin.

If you will need help with the smart classroom equipment (computer and projector), please let me know by Jan. 20: lhalper@garlic.com On the flex days if you need something we haven’t provided, find me or simply ask attendees at your session; everyone works here and wants to help.

On Thursday Jan. 24, please feel invited to the community potluck upstairs at the library as indicated on the schedule; no need to bring anything as we will have plenty of food. You may be asked to sign a standard waiver of liability at the request of our college business office upon arrival.

On Friday, Jan. 25, please feel invited to lunch with faculty and staff in our beautiful Student Center, as indicated on the schedule.

--Flex Credit

Gavilan presenters may claim flex credit for preparation AND for the actual time required for the presentation; the Faculty Professional Learning Committee does scrutinize preparation claims but reasonable claims are approved.
