Today we live in a world of increasing diversity where men and women of varied nationalities, religions, and backgrounds come together. The importance of speech education has never been more essential. In order to live cooperatively in diverse communities, we need to learn how to communicate effectively with one another.
The study of communication theory and practice develops critical thinking, cultural awareness, and listening and speaking skills vital to a democratic society. It develops the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to achieve success in students' personal and professional lives.
