Gavilan College awarded third consecutive federal STEM grant: $4,737,455 over five years
September 28 – The United States Department of Education yesterday announced that Gavilan College will be a recipient of $4,737,455 in federal funding for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education through the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HIS) STEM Program.
Gavilan College announces winners of 2016 Community Spirit Awards
September 21 – At their September meeting, the Gavilan College Board of Trustees announced the winners of the Community Spirit Awards for 2016. The awards will be presented at three breakfasts in October.

Gavilan College Aviation Program Wings North to San Martin
September 1 – In August, Gavilan College staff and students packed up everything for a trek 11 miles north, as the aviation program moved into a newly constructed hangar and renovated classrooms at San Martin Airport. The community is invited to see the new facility at a Grand Opening and Ribbon-Cutting from 4 - 6 p.m. on September 13.
Nominations now open for 2016 Gavilan College Community Spirit Awards
August 16 – Nominations are open now through Wednesday, August 31 for the 2016 Gavilan College Community Spirit Awards. Anyone who lives or works in the Gavilan Joint Community College District may nominate a business, individual, or organization for all they do that contributes to the quality of life in our communities.
Gavilan College Moves to Trustee Elections By District Areas: Filing period opens Monday
July 13 – The general election on November 6 will be the first election for Gavilan College Trustees since the board voted to transition from at-large to district elections.

Food Pantry helps Gavilan students succeed
June 8 – All too often, these are choices students make every day. Money runs out before food is purchased, food runs out before the next paycheck. To address that problem, the Gavilan College Food Pantry opened to students.

November 30 – Registration is now open for Winter and Spring classes at Gavilan College. This winter we are offering the biggest selection of Winter Intersession classes ever. Earn up to 6 units in only 4 weeks! Classes start January 3. Spring semester starts January 30.

Crews putting finishing touches on new Coyote Valley Center
December 19 – Crews are putting the finishing touches on Gavilan Colleges's new Coyote Valley Center. Classes will be offered at the new location for Spring semester 2017, which starts January 30. The center will also be home to the South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium.
