Gavilan College’s 23rd Annual High on Health Faire
by on Sep 15, 2016What: Come and attend the 23rd annual Gavilan College High on Health Faire. This health & resource fair is free and draws over 1,500 visitors each year. Services and medical testing being offered can be performed on children, as long as a parent or guardian is present.
Visitors will have an opportunity to speak with over 40 representatives from local organizations. Some of this year’s participants include Bay Area Cancer Connections, Be The Match, Breathe California of the Bay Area, California Telephone Access Program, Child Health Disability Prevention, Community Health Partnership, Community Solutions, Dept. of Rehabilitation, Emmaus House, Gardner Family Health Network, Gavilan College Disability Resource Center, Gilroy Library Reading Program, GUSD Health Services, Hollister Pregnancy Center/STD Clinic, Hope Services, Informed Choices, LGBTQ Youth Space, Mobile Vet Center, NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, Saint Louse Regional Hospital, San Andreas Regional Center, San Benito County Behavioral Health, San Benito County CHDP/Healthy Families, San Benito County Family Resource Center, San Benito County Tobacco Education Program, Santa Clara County Behavioral Health ECCAC, Santa Clara County Public Health Department, STD/HIV Prevention & Control, Santa Clara County Vector Control District, School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County, Sourcewise, Starlight Community Service, and REACH Program, to name a few.
Visitors can get referrals for counseling, be tested for blood pressure, blood glucose, HIV / AIDS (which is confidential and involves no needles). Other types of medical screening might also be available, please stop by to speak with a representative.
