Teacher Preparation Pipeline
Gavilan College Teacher Preparation Pipeline Program
Mission: The Teacher Preparation Pipeline program is designed to identify future teachers and give them an opportunity to start their career pathway to teaching at Gavilan College. This program is designed to support students that are interested in working with students from birth to college level programs. Students may select working with children in infant/toddler programs, early childhood programs, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten through high school as well as college level programs. Support is offered for students selecting to work with Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
State Partners:
The Education Futures Project provides funding aimed at launching a statewide effort to incorporate Teacher Preparation Pipeline (TPP) programs throughout California Community Colleges.
Gavilan College has received Education Futures funds for our TPP program in May 2018. The Education Futures funds partnering with Strong Work Force Funds (CTE) will connect the many grants Gavilan is currently working on. STEM, Title V and Guided Pathways projects are well under way and will support students interested in teaching with a variety of Service Learning and Field Experiences being offered to Gavilan students.
