About Gavilan Summer Internships and Undergraduate Research Opportunities

Summer interns benefit from field and lab research under guidance from science mentors throughout the Bay Area. Students apply in the spring and get paid for their summer work, often launching careers in their chosen STEM fields. Participation leads to increased motivation, invaluable networking, improved dedication to studies, and a realization that they can do the work!

In order to involve science students in hands-on research, the faculty at our partner campus, San Jose State University, mentors and supervises student interns with their projects. A few students do projects in local corporations. Neighboring universities, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and STEM-related businesses have all worked with Gavilan College to offer internships. Field research teaches students collaborative, practical skills unavailable in a traditional classroom setting.Summer Internships:
