Susan Dodd Makes $120K Donation to Gavilan's Athletics Department
by PIO on Mar 20, 2023GILROY, CA - Former long-time Gavilan faculty member and Athletic Director, Susan Dodd, committed to Superintendent/President, Dr. Pedro Avila, a $120K donation to the college’s Athletic Department to cover the cost of a much-needed scoreboard for home games, in addition to furniture.
The new scoreboard will go into construction in Summer 2023. The goal is to have it up by the Fall athletic season.
Susan Dodd retired from Gavilan College, but still holds an active role in the Athletics Department, especially as a member of the home games staff.
Gavilan Superintendent/President shared:
“Susan Dodd has contributed already so much to our college by being the second woman Athletics Director in the state of California, building our women’s collegiate sports program based on Title IX requirements, donated to the building of our new steel bridge and now is so generously closing the financial gap in our athletics Department for a much-needed scoreboard. She truly continues to be an asset to our college and a dedicated champion.”
