Gavilan Hosts Poppy Jasper Film Festival First Day & Opening Ceremony
by on Mar 20, 2024GILROY, CA – March 19, 2024 – The Poppy Jasper International Film Festival (PJIFF) announced this year’s first day of films and opening ceremony will be held at the Gavilan College Theater on Wednesday, April 10. The first day of the festival will show four blocks of Youth and Student films from 3 pm – 10:30 pm, with a 30-minute opening ceremony at 8 pm.
This film festival includes a program of 267 films from 30 countries, (with films by our own Gav film students), including features, documentaries, short films, music videos and panels.
This is the Opening Day at Gavilan Theater Schedule:
3 PM – Youth & Student Film Festival: Block 1
4 PM – Youth & Student Film Festival: Block 2
6 PM – Youth & Student Film Festival: Block 3
8 PM – Opening Ceremony
8:30 PM – Youth & Student Film Festival: Block 4
The opening ceremony will feature local guests and dignitaries including:
• Land Acknowledgment by Kanyon "Coyote Woman" Sayers-Roods
• Performances by the Gav music program
