Interim Athletics Director Receives State Recognition
by on Mar 6, 2023GILROY, CA – On Saturday, February 25, Gavilan College’s Interim Athletics Director, Jamie Adams, received the California Athletic Trainers' Association State Recognition Award for 2022.
The purpose of the State Recognition award is to recognize a Certified Athletic Trainer or a non-member (i.e., physician, educator, mentor, supporter, etc.), who have and/or are making a significant contribution of their time and energy to the state-wide membership of the California Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA). To be eligible for nomination a member or non-member’s contribution should encompass betterment of the profession of Athletic Training throughout the state of California.
Gavilan Superintendent/President shared:
“We are all very proud of Jamie Adams, her talents, abilities and her contributions as an Interim Athletics Director. She has done great work growing our programs. With both Women’s and Men’s Soccer programs returning to Gavilan next Fall, this award is testament to the talent and dedication we have in our athletics department.”
CATA President Ky Kugler, who presented Jamie Adams with her award, added:
“The California Athletic Trainers' Association (CATA) is proud to present the 2022 State Recognition Award to Mrs. Jamie Adams. Jamie helped the AT community in California by serving as the Public Relations Chairperson for several years and spending time on our Governmental Affairs Committee. Jamie continues to serve the AT community by serving on different committees at both the district and national levels. Through this service Jamie has established herself as a leader within the profession. Congratulations and thank you for your service, Jamie!”
