Registration Calendar for Summer/Fall 2017

Registration Dates for Winter / Spring 2017

Priority 4	December 6	New to college students (1 st . semester), and beyond who have not completed assessment/orientation/ed plan
Priority 5	December 7	Returning, Transfer, Probation 2 and Academically Dismissed, High School (except GECA)
Open	December 8-Jan 29	All admitted students
Late	January 30-Feb 10	Students who have obtained add codes from instructors
Open – entry/late-start	Before first day of class	All students taking open-entry and late-start classes

NOTES:

Eligible Continuing students during Priority 1, 2, or 3 registration must be in good academic standing e.g. not on probation for 2 consecutive semesters or dismissal and have less than 100 earned units total excluding 30 units basic skills or ESL classes.

New to college students for Spring 2017, and who are eligible for Priority 1, 2, or 3 registrations, must have successfully completed an assessment, education plan and orientation to be eligible for priority registration. Those who have not successfully completed an assessment, education plan and orientation may enroll during Priority 4 registration which starts on Dec 6.

5	May 12	Returning, Transfer, Probation 2 and Academically Dismissed, High School students other than GECA
Open	May 12 - First day of class	All students

NOTES

Register online if:

You are a continuing student or have been admitted to Gavilan and been issued a Gavilan ID number.
You have no "holds".
You have successfully completed course prerequisites at Gavilan College or have been verified though assessment or evaluation of official transcripts from another college.
You are not in "dismissed" status.

Dismissal and Probation

Document Deadlines:
• If you are currently enrolled (Spring 2017) and are on
dismissal: May 26, 2017 at 4:00pm
• If your Spring/ Summer 2017 grades place you on dismissal:
August 24, 2017 at 4:00pm
• If you are returning to college and the last term of attendance you were placed on dismissal: August 24, 2017 at 4:00pm
Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and those who have completed at least 50% of attempted courses are deemed in good standing.
