Gavilan College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), 428 J Street, Suite 400, Sacramento, CA 95814, (415) 506-0234, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Gavilan College Midterm Approval Report - April 13, 2023
Gavilan College's accreditation was reaffirmed in 2019. The college submitted a midterm evaluation in the third year of the cycle. ACCJC collects annual reports on institutional performance and fiscal health as part of their policy on monitoring and federal regulations, which can be found here: annual reports.
In fall 2024, Gavilan College will engage in an internal self-evaluation and present a formal self-evaluation report to the ACCJC by the end of spring 2025. The Comprehensive Peer Review cycle involves the institutional self-evaluation report (ISER), peer review team report and visit, and commission review and action.
The ACCJC Accreditation Standards were released in June 2023.
