Executive Team Goals and Objectives 2024-2025
Dear Gavilan College Community,
As we embark on a new academic year, I'm excited to share my goals for the upcoming year. These goals, developed in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, will guide our efforts as we strive to advance our institution.
This semester, we will embark on a comprehensive review of our Strategic Plan. This process will involve evaluating our college’s mission, vision, and institutional goals to ensure they accurately reflect our current needs and aspirations.
If you're passionate about shaping the future of Gavilan College, I encourage you to participate in this important initiative. We'll soon be issuing a call for volunteers.

2024-2025 Executive Team Goals and Objectives
Goal 1. Building a More Inclusive and Equitable College Community
We will champion Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives and ensure all voices are heard and represented in the college decision-making process.
Goal 2. Financial Strength and Stability
We're committed to responsible financial management and following our long-term fiscal plan. This ensures the college's ongoing financial health, which allows us to continue investing in the success of our students and employees.
Goal 3. Enhancing Planning and Governance
- We will update institutional plans, including the Strategic/Academic, Facilities, Enrollment Management, and Technology Plans, to reflect the needs of our students, employees, and community.
- We will improve our governance structure and processes and update the College's Governance Manual.
- We will complete the Institutional Self Evaluation Report (ISER) and update the college's strategic plan to align with our new Equity Framework.
Goal 4. Expand Institutional Capacity and Effectiveness
- We will continue streamlining IT, Business Office, Facilities, and Human Resources operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- We will establish an office of Research and Planning to guide informed decision-making.
- We will work to increase the capacity of our Educational Foundation to support students and college initiatives.
- We remain dedicated to ongoing enrollment management efforts.
Goal 5. Optimizing Facilities and Services
- We will ensure the successful opening of the Hollister Campus.
- We will establish partnerships and secure funding to reopen the Childcare Center.
- We are committed to delivering Measure X projects on time and within budget.
- We will prioritize improvements in technology and college systems.
- We will continue exploring funding opportunities for student housing.
