Integrated Planning Across Initiatives
Gavilan College combines multiple planning, allocation, implementation, and evaluation processes into a single system that incorporates data and input from all segments of the college community. This integrated planning system happens cyclically and is in a constant state of improvement.
The following are the elements of Gavilan College’s Integrated Planning process:
- Master Plans (Educational, Technology, and Facilities)
- Strategic Plan
- Program Review / Institutional Effectiveness
- Program Plans including Budget Requests
- Budget Committee, Ranking, and Allocation
- Implementation
- Evaluation
All components of planning and implementation are managed by the college community through its shared governance. The shared governance model insures that all college constituencies are involved in the structures that guide our college decision-making.
An advisory group, the Integrated Planning Committee, has helped guide some improvements in this system. This group is composed of representatives from the Strategic Planning, Institutional Effectiveness, and Budget Committees. This group uses input from all college constituencies to help improve the system and make it more effective, transparent, and responsive.
