Debbie Klein is an exemplary instructor who has the rare ability to both challenge and support her students as she teaches them. Her own field research informs her instruction, and her high professional standards provide a model for her students. Debbie has been a leader in service learning and in the development of the new Global Studies degree in Social Sciences. As a faculty member, she has provided campus leadership in the GCFA and the Academic Senate. Her work as Academic Senate President has resulted in new involvement of faculty in institutional planning, and her professional methods have meant that campus discussions have been fair and comprehensive. She is to be commended for her high standards, hard work, and ability to motivate others.
