PE 3A:    Athletic Training Field Experience

Advisory: PE 3 Introduction to Athletic Training.
Transferable: CSU
A coeducational course designed to offer the prospective athletic trainer, physical therapist, or physical educator a continuing practical experience reinforcing and applying the concepts and terminology learned in PE 3, Introduction to Athletic Training, and the field of athletic training. The purpose of PE 3A is to provide a comprehensive, progressive educational and practical foundation in preparation for transition into allied health studies. Knowledge in the recognition, assessment, and care of athletic injuries or practical experience in care and prevention of athletic injuries is recommended. May be repeated three times for credit. This course has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit.

PE 5:    Individual and Dual Sports

Advisory: Eligible for English 250 and English 260.
Transferable: CSU; UC; GAV-GE: E1
Designed for those planning to work with children in the field of physical education or recreation. Activities such as badminton, bowling, golf, tennis, and archery may be covered. This course has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit.

PE 9A:    Fundamentals of Soccer

This course offers basic instruction in the theory, strategies, and techniques of soccer for the purpose of preparing the individual student in the fundamental aspects of playing and coaching the sport.
