Spring 2007 Registration



REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

  • Continuing Students

    December 4 - 8, 2006

  • New Transfer Institute

    December 7 - 8, 2006

  • New, Returning &
    High School Contract Students

    December 11- 22, 2006
    January 3 - 29, 2007

  • Late Registration

    New, Continuing, Returning or High School Students
    January 31 - February 6, 2007.

  • Open Entry & Late-Start Classes

    Students must be registered before the first day of a late-start course.


ADD CODES

Students may add courses during the first four days of the semester provided there is space available. Add codes must be obtained from the instructor for any closed (full) class a student wishes to add.


Add codes obtained from an instructor must be used by Tuesday, February 6 until 7 pm for in person registration or until 10 pm for online (OLGA) and phone registration (GavNOW).



Adding and Dropping Courses

Students may add and/or drop courses:

  • by phone (Call GavNOW at 408-846-3729),
  • online (Click on the OLGA icon at www.gavilan.edu)
  • in person on the main campus or at the Morgan Hill or Hollister sites.

A student who stops attending and does not officially drop is not automatically dropped from a course and may receive a final grade of "F." If a refund is desired, a Refund Form must be submitted to Admissions and Records before the deadline. No refunds are issued for courses dropped after the deadline.




A "new" student is any student who has not previously attended Gavilan College. New students must have an application on file 48 hours prior to registering.


A "continuing" student is any student who was enrolled in the previous semester. A continuing student who misses priority registration may register with new & returning students or during late registration.


A "returning" student is a student who has been absent from Gavilan College for a semester or more.


A "high school contract" student is a student currently enrolled in grades 9-12.

  • January 29: Mon, 8 am - 7 pm
  • January 31 - February 8: Mon - Thurs, 8 am - 7 pm,
    Fri, 8 am - 4:30 pm

Morgan Hill & Hollister Sites

  • December 4 - 22: Mon - Thurs, 8 am - 2 pm, 6 - 8 pm,
    Fri, 8 am - 12 pm, 1 - 5 pm
  • January 8 - 29: Mon - Fri, 8 am - 12 pm, 1 - 5 pm
  • January 31 - February 6: Mon - Thurs, 8 am - 2:30 pm, 5:30 - 8 pm, Fri, 8 am - 12 pm

No in-person registration for Spring on the following days:

  • Dec. 23 - Jan. 2: Closed for Christmas Holiday
    (Main Campus, Morgan Hill, and Hollister Sites)
  • Jan. 3 - Jan. 5: Closed for Christmas Holiday
    (at Morgan Hill and Hollister Sites)
  • Jan. 15: Closed for Martin Luther King Day
  • Jan. 30: Closed for Staff Development Day

  • Mon - Fri, 9 a.m. - 10 p.m.

New and returning students must file an application 48 hours prior to registering by phone. No application necessary for students who were enrolled the preceding semester.


Pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or mail your check within 5 days to: Cashier, Business Office, Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., Gilroy, CA 95020.
