Spring 2006 Registration


REGISTRATION SCHEDULE

  • Late Registration

    New, Continuing, Returning or High School Students.
    High School students register in person.
    Jan. 23 - 27: in person or by phone (GavNOW)
    Jan. 28 - 29: by phone (GavNOW)
    Add codes required for all semester-long classes as of the first day of the semester.

  • Registration for Open Entry and
    Late-Start Classes

    Students must be registered before the first day of a late-start course.


ADD CODES

Students may add courses on a space available basis during the first week of the semester provided they have obtained an add code from the instructor of the course. To add the course, use the telephone registration system, (GavNOW) or add in person. Add codes obtained during late registration will be accepted for in-person or phone registration until Friday, February 3.



Adding and Dropping Courses

Students may add and/or drop courses by calling GavNOW at (408) 846-3729 or in-person by completing a Change-of-Program (pink card).


Add codes obtained from an instructor during late registration will be accepted for in-person or phone registration through Friday, February 3.


A student who stops attending and does not officially drop is not automatically dropped from a course and may receive a final grade of "F." If a refund is desired, a Refund Form must be submitted to Admissions and Records before the deadline. No refunds are issued for courses dropped after the deadline.

New and returning students must file an application 48 hours prior to registering by phone. No application necessary for students who were enrolled the preceding semester.

NEW: Fall semester 2006 will begin in early September...

...as we transition to our new 16-week calendar. The first day of instruction for fall semester will be Tuesday, September 5, 2006.

 

A "new" student is any student who has not previously attended Gavilan College. New students must have an application on file 48 hours prior to registering.


A "continuing" student is any student who was enrolled in the previous semester. A continuing student who misses priority registration may register with new & returning students or during late registration.

 

A "returning" student is a student who has been absent from Gavilan College for a semester or more.


A "high school contract" student is a student currently enrolled in grades 9-12.
