This course will explore the dynamics of communication as it applies to people from different cultures. Course content focuses on the application of theory and research to intercultural communication contexts. Increasing the awareness and understanding of diversity, the perception process, culture, verbal and non-verbal communication and the obstacles that prevent one from becoming a competent intercultural communicator will be examined. |

This course provides a group learning experience for adults with neurologically based communication disorders such as post-stroke aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, etc. Language and speech retraining will be provided in a competency-based instructional format to ensure maximum recovery of skills. May be repeated for a maximum of 3 units. This is a credit/no credit course. Units earned in this course do not count toward the associate degree and/or certain certificate requirements. |
