WELD 200 Basic Welding Technology
An introduction to the theory and principles of oxyacetylene and arc welding. The application of the principles of oxyacetylene welding in the flat position. The cutting of metal with the use of an oxyacetylene cutting torch. The practical application of arc welding through the basic application of flat position welding using E6013, E6011 and E7018 welding rod. This course has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit and may be repeated one time for credit.

WELD 201 Intermediate Welding Technology
Introduction to the theory, principles, and fundamentals of electric arc welding in the vertical and overhead positions using E6011, E6013, and E7018 welding rod. Introduction to the basic theory, principles and fundamentals of TIG and MIG welding. This course has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit and may be repeated one time for credit.

WELD 290 Occupational Work Experience/Welding Technology
College credit for learning experience obtained on the job in accordance with a training plan developed cooperatively between the employer, college and student. 75 hours per semester per unit or 60 hours per semester for unpaid experience. May be taken for a maximum of 16 work experience units. This is a credit/no credit course.
 
Required: Declared vocational major. Concurrent enrollment in seven or more units (including CWE units, except for summer school. For summer school enrollment in one other class is required. Minimum 2.00 G.P.A.
