| An introduction to the theory and principles of oxyacetylene and arc welding. The application of the principles of oxyacetylene welding in the flat position. The cutting of metal with the use of an oxyacetylene cutting torch. The practical application of arc welding through the basic application of flat position welding using E6013, E6011 and E7018 welding rod. |

| WELD 290 | Occupational Work Experience/Welding Technology |
| The application of learned theory, knowledge, and skills to a practical job setting related to the student's educational/occupational goal. Employment must be directly related to the student's college educational/occupational goal. Periodic interviews of the students and employers or their representatives will be required. Each student shall be assisted in the development of individualized performance objectives, toward which the learning experience shall be directed. This is a credit/no credit course. |
| Required: | Enrollment in a minimum of seven units, including Cooperative Work Experience, during regular semesters; enrollment in at least one other class in summer session. Minimum 2.00 G.P.A. |
