An introduction to the analysis and dramatic reading of literature, including classical and contemporary prose and poetry. THEA 12A Acting: History and Practice
An introduction to the historical development of acting as a practice of human cultural expression. Students will acquire a vocabulary for theater performance as an art form and analyze dramatic works in a historical context. Practice of basic acting concepts, character analysis, preparation and performances of monologues and scenes will be required in the course.

Supervised field work within the college and with local agencies. Students serve in useful group activities in leadership roles prescribed for them by faculty or community agencies. A maximum of six units may be completed. This is a credit/no credit course.
