Amy is a native Californian and she currently resides in Santa Clara. She
has also lived in Texas, North Carolina, and Idaho. She has studied abroad
at universities in Argentina and Mexico. Before coming to Gavilan, Amy
held several positions teaching English and Spanish to children and adults
in California and Mexico. Most recently, Amy worked at the Monterey
Institute of International Studies as an instructor, an academic
coordinator, and a writing tutor. Amy’s professional interests include
language pedagogy (including approaching language learning through
content, projects, and community involvement) and the teaching of academic
writing. Outside of work, Amy loves to cook, travel, read, and spend time
with family and friends.
