How to Apply?

The student must meet all qualifications in order to participate.

Continuing Gavilan Students qualifications

• Must be transfer bound to a four-year college/university
• In good academic standing
• Qualify for English 250 writing placement
• Qualify for English 260 reading placement or higher
• Participate in all the program activities

Steps for continuing students:

1. Complete an academic progress report
2. Meet with the Puente Counselor to:
   1. Complete an application and interview
   2. Register for fall courses

Incoming freshman Gavilan Students Criteria:

• Must be transfer bound to a four-year college/university
• Qualify for English 250 writing placement
• Qualify for English 260 reading placement or higher
• Participate in all the program activities

Steps for incoming freshman:

1. Complete college application and get a Gav ID # by May
2. Take college placement in writing, reading, and math
3. Take the college on line orientation
4. Meet with the Puente Counselor to:
   1. Complete an application and interview
   2. Register for fall courses
