The Late Registration Period for Spring Semester at Gavilan College has been extended through Friday, February 6.
Many class sections are full, but additional sections have been added for a number of high-demand classes, to give more students an opportunity to enroll. The Late Registration period was originally scheduled to close on Friday, January 31.
"We've added classes and extended registration so that more students can be accomodated, " said Vice President of Instruction martin Johnson. "As more students from UC and CSU are encouraged to complete their first two years at the community college, Gavilan College is working to make sure that students have the opportunity to take the classes they will need in order to transfer."
The state budget proposed by Governor Schwartzenegger last month would cut enrollment at the state's four-year schools and provide incentives for students to complete their first two years at the community colleges.
Students may register in person at all three locations or by phone, and may also check for class availability by phone. The phone system, "GavNOW", can be accessed by calling (408) 846-3729.
Students who wish to register in person should go to one of the following Gavilan College locations:
17060 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. inGilroy, or 365 Fourth Street in Hollister.
For general information, please call (408) 848-4800.
