What: For the last 20 years, Gavilan College's annual health & resource fair has provided students and community members with up-to-date health information, resources and free medical testing.
During these difficult economic times, Gavilan College is offering these services to anyone in the community regardless of their financial situation. This event, which regularly draws over 1,500 visitors, is free and open to people of all ages (all tests can be performed on children, as long as a parent or guardian is present).
Who: The public can visit with community agencies and health care providers. All of the services are free! Gavilan will be hosting agencies from San Benito and Santa Clara Counties, including The American Red Cross, Breathe California, Community Solutions, CSUMB, Department of Rehabilitation, Hazel Hawkins Hospital, and Saint Louise Hospital. Additionally, many Gavilan College departments such as Allied Health, Cosmetology, Counseling, DRC, EOPS and Athletics will also be on hand to answer any questions.
Visitors can get referrals for counseling, be tested for blood pressure, blood glucose, HIV / AIDS (which is confidential and involves no needles), and women who are 18 years of age and up can take a free pregnancy test.
This year's fair will be dedicated to the memory of John Pruitt. According to Alice Dufresne-Reyes, Student Health Nurse, "As Vice President of Student Services, John whole-heartedly believed that an individual's overall health and wellness consisted of mind, body and spirit - and our Health Faire continues to serve these needs."

When: Wednesday, October 2, from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
