ooths and activities to educate fellow students, faculty, staff, and the community about their rights as human beings and the importance of upholding these in our communi

ties and further afield. Each day's events focus on a specific topic within Human Rights.
WHEN:
Monday December 5 (11a-1p): The Right to an Adequate Standard of Living (Homelessness and Poverty) Tuesday December 6 (11a-1p): The Right to Education
Wednesday December 7 (11a-1p): Legal Rights and the Criminal Justice System
Thursday December 8 (11a-1p): The Right to an Adequate Standard of Living (Health Care)
Thursday December 9 (1p-3p): The Right to Marry and Found a Family (Marriage Equality)
WHERE: Student Center, Gavilan COllege main campus, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., Gilroy CA
WHY: Every year the United Nations (UN) celebrates the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10th. Human Rights Day is a time for people to reflect about the meaning, importance, and need for human rights.
