The Gavilan College Summer Theatre Arts Repertory (STAR) Program has been offering theatre and video performing arts programs for youth since 1985.  In its rich 26-year history, STAR has created a safe place for creative expression and has transformed hundreds of children's lives by helping to boost their confidence and poise; encouraging their creative spirits; and teaching collaboration, teamwork, and respect. 

Fall STAR Spooktacular!

• Youth Ages 10-16
• Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• October 1, 8, 15, 22, and taping for broadcast on October 29^th
• Five Saturdays - only $125 (Includes free DVD)
• Plus $20 costume and mask materials fee
• Gavilan College TV Studio, Gilroy

Fall STAR participants are introduced to performing arts fundamentals through theatre games and improvisational acting; creating their own unique characters for a Halloween-themed "Spooktacular!" variety show.  This session is perfect for children who want to explore the video performing arts, without the commitment of a multiple-week, full-day program, and for those STAR kids who just can't wait for summer to get back to STAR and just want to have fun on the weekends!

• No prior experience is necessary!
• Learn to act in front of a green screen and TV cameras!
• Create Halloween-themed variety show for GavTV, Gavilan College's Educational Channel!
• Participate in El Teatro Campesino's Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration
  and procession through the streets of historic San Juan Bautista!
• Costume and mask are yours to keep!
