What: Digital Media lab, where students learn by doing.
· Get a head start on Digital Storytelling for the classroom or web.
· Tell your story with memories, words, photos, videos, and animation.
· Produce a video for DVD, web, classroom, YouTube, or podcast
This class is a four week session with flexible hours. Students must register for DM 108, Digital Media Lab, (.5 units) in order to participate. Attendees will be able to customize their learning experience, and project development, with access to instructors, tutors, on-line video, and suggested readings. Digital Media's Studio DM is equipped with Pro level computers and uses software like Final Cut Pro, Motion/After Effects, Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Logic, GarageBand, Dreamweaver, DVD Studio Pro, SoundTrack Pro, iPhoto, iMovie, DigiDesign's Pro Tools, and Maya for 3D animation. Digital Video camcorders can be checked out by attendees.

Tuesday July 7 - Robert Beede, Gavilan Instructor, performs live Digital Storytelling and discusses the technology and techniques used for control of video effects and sound.
Also July 7 - Jarrod Wyrick, Apple System Engineer for Higher Education, speaks on the iPhone and its applications for Instructors and Students. This is a special session that shouldn't be missed. The iPhone and other smart phones are becoming common instruments for instruction as well as personal entertainment.
