WHO: Anyone who is seeking a career in the construction trades. Students should have English reading and writing proficiency.
WHAT: Can register for IT 115, Industrial Safety at Gavilan College. This-three unit course provides an introduction to the construction industry. It will cover the basic skill set required to earn and entry-level position in various trades in construction. Students will learn basic math, vocabulary, blue print reading and safety skills, along with the "soft skills" required to gain employment. The course has the option of a letter grade or credit/no credit. it is transferrable to the California State University.
WHEN: Spring semester classes start January 30. IT 115 meets Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. - 9:05 p.m.
WHERE: This class meets on the Gavilan College Gilroy campus, room SS 205.
