WHO: Adults 55 and older
WHAT: Can learn new skills and enjoy mind-stimulating activities in a
stress-free environment. No fees, no grades, no tests! A variety of
classes is offered at convenient locations in the community. Topics
include Arts and Crafts, Coping with Loss, Music Encounters, Music,
Movement and Wellness, Film Classics, Internet Literacy, Tai Chi for
Arthritis and related illnesses, and Tai Chi for Wellness. Classes
begin August 11.

Tai Chi for Arthritis and Other Related Illnesses
Often viewed as steel wrapped in cotton, Tai Chi is not only beautiful
to watch, but is growing in popularity due to its low impact and
effective results. The art of Tai Chi includes a series of slow paced
movements and postures that improve balance, flexibility,
coordination, breathing, and builds strength and stamina. Tai Chi
practice will bring your mind, body, and spirit together to relieve

Tai Chi for Wellness
This course will introduce the student to the thirty seven posture
forms and movements of Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese practice that
focuses on slow paced coordinated movements that improve balance,
coordination, mobility and breathing. The students will also learn
how to use this non-contact exercise program to reduce stress in their
daily lives.
