WHO: The Gavilan College Associated Student Body
WHAT: Invites the community to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Gavilan College at the following events:
Wednesday, May 3 in the Student Center:
10 a.m. - 1 p.m., the Cosmetology Club will do hair flowers and braiding and sell hair care products. (There is a $3 charge for hair braiding with a 10% discount for ASB card holders.)
12 p.m. - 1 p.m., performance by the Azteca Dancers
Thursday, May 4 in the Student Center:
11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: D. J and vendors
Saturday, May 6 on the GavFEST Main Stage (lawn between Physical Sciences building and Library)
10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., performances by Mariachi Santa Cecilia and Esperanza del Baile
WHY: This year Cinco de Mayo falls on a Friday, a day when fewer students are on campus, so weekday events were scheduled earlier in the week. The annual GavFEST festival and open house will have a Cinco de Mayo flavor, with mariachi and baile performance, and Mexican food for sale in the food court.
All of the events are free and open to the public.
