GILROY, CA. - At their meeting on December 13, 2005, the seven-member Gavilan College Board of Trustees approved a set of goals for the 2006 calendar year that includes attention to facilities issues, the development of cultural programs, and evaluating the many changes undertaken in recent years to make Gavilan the College of Choice for district residents (see complete list of goals, attached.) In other action, they selected the Board officers for the coming year: Tom Breen as Board President, Mark Dover as Board Vice President, and Kent Child as Board Clerk.
The Board's goals set the direction for college administrators to follow over the coming year. The document shows a commitment by the board to communicate with constituents, specifying the publication of an annual Report to the Community and Board member involvement in community activities.
The public can access the Gavilan College Board of Trustees Goals for Calendar Year 2006 at the Gavilan College website: www.gavilan.edu. Minutes of past Board meetings and the dates and agendas of upcoming meetings are also posted online. The Board of Trustees holds an open meeting at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month.
