WHO: Neal Oppenheimer, a sophomore at Gavilan AJ major
holding a 4.0 G.PA., won 2nd place in the juvenile law
WHAT: Members from the Gavilan College fraternity LAE (Lambda Alpha Epsilon) attended a conference at Fresno State last semester and one in Memphis in March. Students from the Administration of Justice fraternity at Gavilan and around the country attend workshops and symposium on a variety of topics
in law enforcement. Students also compete in academic and tactical competitions.
WHY: Neal and other students at Gavilan dominated the regional conference in the juvenile law competition
taking the top three spots and taking second and third place in the criminal law competition.
Steve Smith, Administration of Justice instructor said, "I am particularly proud of his award and the other LAE
members who competed in Memphis last semester for the regional conference."
