WHO: Plant-lovers and gardeners of all ages
WHAT: Are invited to buy low cost plants for their spring gardens at a plant sale on the Gavilan College campus. The sale has been organized by the members of Gavilan College CSEA (California School Employees Association) to benefit the Gavilan College Child Development Center, with the creation of a children's book lending library. Over 400 plants were donated by Sakata Seeds for the sale. Plants available include geraniums, snapdragons, and more. The community is invited to donate gently used children's books, especially for preschoolers, when they come to purchase plants.
WHEN: Monday, April 28, from 9 a.m. until the plants run out!
WHERE: Student Center, Gavilan College Gilroy campus. 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.
WHY: The plant sale proceeds will create a children's book lending library for the Gavilan College Child Development Center. Reading is important to children's development, yet many low-income families do not have money to purchase books. The lending library will be available to the families of the Gavilan College Child Development Center.
