Inspired by memories of sewing with the women in her family, Leslie Batty’s work explores “the ways in which cultural systems seek to construct our ideas of identity and sexuality, addressing the ironies of how we create / invent ourselves within the context of our society, history, and culture.” Peter Janzen’s work “investigates the mysterious qualities of light and space in mid century modern interiors.” He is “concerned with themes of absence and displacement within the individual, culture and society and feels interior spaces of the era convey this.”
