The child development discipline offers coursework and degrees
leading to a wide range of careers with children. As our society
requires more parents to work outside the home, the demand will
continue to grow for high-quality dependable child care. Students
who complete the
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate are prepared
for employment in infant/toddler centers or private preschools.
The School
Age Certificate prepares students for employment
in before- and after-school centers and recreation programs. The
Child Development Permit, which requires 16 additional units in
general education beyond the certificate, allows students to teach
in state- or federally-funded child care and development programs.
A Foster/Family Child Carecertificate professionalizes your family
child care home. |
