The sequence is designed to offer maximum flexibility in achieving educational goals, while providing for entry into the next level of the program (i.e., “Career Ladder”). PREREQUISITES (as needed)

Completion of this course will qualify students to apply for certificatio n by taking the written and performance Nurse Assistant Competency Exam. Student s receiving the certificate will have job entry skills for Nurse Assistant in th e Convalescent Facility. AH180 Fundamentals of Nursing Convalescent 8 units ROP Certificate Requirement: 8 UNITS Home Health Aide ROP CertificateOpen to certified nursing as sistants only, or must be concurrently enrolled in AH 180. Completion of these courses will qualify students for state certification as a Home Health Aide. St udents receiving the certificate will have job entry skills for Home Health Aide . AH 180 Fundamentals of Nursing - Convalescent 8 units AH 182 Home Health Aide 2 units ROP Certificate Requirements: 10 UNITS Nurse Assistant - Acute Care * ROP CertificateCompletion of this c ourse will qualify students for a Certificate of Completion as a Nursing Assis tant in the Acute Care Facility and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifica tion. This course is open to students who have completed AH 180 or equivalent. Students receiving the certificate will have job entry skills for Nurse Assistan t in the Acute Care Setting. AH 181 Fundamentals of Nursing - Acute 8 units ROP Certificate Requirements: 8 UNITS * Not all majors/certificates may be offered during this catalog cycle. Degree and Certificate of Completion Licensed Vocational NursingProgram Learning Outcomes: After completing this degree or certificate a student will:
Completion of the courses listed will qualify students for the Certificate of Completion in Vocational Nursing. To qualify for licensing by th e Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners a student must have a minimum of 576 lecture hours of instruction and 954 clinical hours of ins truction. Students completing the Vocational Nursing program and passing the National Council Licensure Examination will have job entry skills for Licensed V ocational Nursing. Students planning to enter the LVN Program must be U.S. hig h school graduates or equivalent (GED or official transcript evaluation) and com plete the Allied Health clinical courses.After completing the general education requirements, students will qualify for the Associate of Science Degree.

Nursing A.S. Degree and Certificate of Completion Registered NursingProgram Learni ng Outcomes: After completing this degree or certificate a student will:
At the present time, the Registered Nursing program is open to licensed vocational nurses or those who have successfully completed a vocational nursing program and are exam eligible. After completing the Registered Nursing program a nd passing the National Council Licensure Examination, students will have job en try skills for registered nursing. The Associate’s degree in Registered Nursing requires completion of the Allied Health clinical courses listed plus ge neral education requirements. Students are then qualified for a Certificate of C ompletion in Registered Nursing and an Associate of Science degree.
